Rhythm & Hues: An Alleyway Art Show returns on Friday!

Calling all lovers of art! Join us on Friday from 6:00pm – 9:00pm for our quarterly celebration of local artists at Rhythm & Hues: An Alleyway Art Show!

 

Nestled in the alley adjacent from Franklin St. & Henderson Ave. in Tampa Heights, you’ll be immersed in a showcase of many artistic mediums! With live painting, open-mic performances, and a comedy show, you’re sure to be inspired by the glistening talent of various local artists.

Ashley's Children's Gasparilla Parade will be held on Saturday

Calling all families! Ashley’s Children’s Gasparilla Parade will drop its anchor in Tampa on Saturday! Since 1947, this parade has catered to the enjoyment of our city’s little tykes.

 

Beginning at Bay to Bay Blvd. and stretching to Edison Ave, this alcohol-free event will be perfect fun for the whole family to enjoy!

 

NOTE: While you don’t need a reserved ticket to stroll along the parade route, you can reserve seats in a prime location ahead of time.

If you love all things animals and nature, Downtown’s Straz Center has a treat for you!

 

Head to the Straz Center in Tampa’s Downtown on Thursday, January 16 at 7:00pm to watch photographer and filmmaker Sandesh Kadur discuss the wild cats from his home country, India.

 

With vast landscapes, arid plains, and dense jungles, India is home to a diverse array of wild cats! Get your tickets today and head to the Straz to learn about them next week.

APPLY: Neighborhood Enhancement Grant & Storefront/Sidewalk Grant

Do you have an idea that has the potential to further beautify Tampa’s Downtown? If so, consider applying for one of our two active grants:

  • Neighborhood Enhancement Grant: Tampa’s Downtown Neighborhood Enhancement Grant is a dynamic initiative aimed at fostering vibrant and inclusive neighborhoods. The program offers annual grants of up to $5,000 to each of the seven neighborhoods in Tampa’s Downtown.
  • Storefont & Sidewalk Cafe Grant: The Storefront and Sidewalk Cafe Grant serves to create a more attractive pedestrian atmosphere and commercially vibrant environment through street-level storefront improvements and inviting sidewalk cafe settings. The program offers grants of up to $10,000 administered on a reimbursement basis, allowing for up to $5,000 grant funds to be reimbursed every two years.
