Three Identical Strangers (2018) 7:30pm to 9:15pm Tampa Theatre This knockout documentary begins as a goofy, believe-it-or-not tabloid story about three men who, at the age of 19, discover that they were identical triplets, separated at birth and reunited by pure happenstance. Summer Specialty Tour Begins 1pm Henry B. Plant Museum Join the Henry B. Plant Museum for four exciting new tours this summer. This series includes in-depth examinations of untold stories from early Tampa and the Tampa Bay Hotel. Look at the Museum in a different light as you learn more about Rough Riders or Theodore Roosevelt, discover how the Tampa Bay Hotel fits into the larger story of Tampa, or bring your little ones for a special tour developed just for children. Patel Conservatory presents Showstoppers: Broadway Intensive Begins 7pm Straz Center for the Performing Arts This professionally produced showcase features favorite moments from Broadway performed by many of the finest musical theater students in the area. Performed in the Straz Center’s TECO Theater, this culmination of fourteen intensive days of dance, music and acting training highlights the impressive talents of these Broadway hopefuls in an upbeat celebration of popular solo and ensemble selections. Eighth Grade (2018) 7:30pm to 9pm Tampa Theatre During the last week of middle school, slouchy, shy Kayla is put through all manner of tests, as she and her classmates participate in a live-shooter drill, accept their “superlative” awards (Kayla wins “Most Quiet”), throw pool parties, and take an orientation trip to their future high school. With the camera following Kayla like a helicopter parent, we watch as she tries (and mostly fails) to connect with her would-be friends – arriving at said party with a lame birthday present and making awkward small talk with her oblivious crush. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) Begins 10:30pm Tampa Theatre As Kirk and Spock monitor trainees at Starfleet Academy, another vessel from the United Federation of Planets tests the planet-forming Genesis Device in a seemingly deserted section of space. In the process, some of Kirk’s charges are captured by Kirk’s enemy Khan. Kirk must step up to the Enterprise’s helm once again, where he squares off with Khan’s ship in an intergalactic showdown. But first, Ryder and his team of pirate pups must rescue Cap’n Turbot from a mysterious cavern. When they do, they also discover a secret pirate treasure map! The PAW Patrol set out over land and sea to find the treasure for Mayor Goodway’s celebration before Mayor Humdinger finds it first!
