The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) 9:30pm to 11:30pm Tampa Theatre In this classic, an engaged couple get lost and wander to a nearby castle where they are captured by a Transylvanian doctor in lingerie and his entourage. This event benefits the NephCure Kidney International, the only non-profit organization committed to supporting research, improving treatment, and finding a cure for the debilitating kidney disease FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis) and Nephrotic Syndrome. Live for 24 Foundation 5K/Mile Fun Run 2018 Begins 8pm University of Tampa Participants in this fun event are welcome to run, walk, or stroll their way through campus on a scenic 3.12 mile course which includes a segment along the Hillsborough River. A separate 1 mile fun run will also be offered. Participants will receive a T-shirt and certificate with registration, and top finishers will receive medals. A family friendly post-race event will be held at Pepin Field, which will include food, refreshments, music, bounce houses, and local vendor tents. How to Be a Hometown Tourist Begins 1pm Oxford Exchange It took Missourian Kristen Hare about a week to fall in love with Tampa Bay and the people who live here, but it took her a little longer to learn how to explore like a hometown tourist. Kristen, an award-winning journalist who covers the transformation of local news for the Poynter Institute, spends her free time dragging her family out to discover new adventures and talking to friends, neighbors, and strangers about their favorite local treasures. She’s learned to live by the motto “don’t let the tourists have all the fun.” The second edition of her book, 100 Things to do in Tampa Bay Before You Die, contains what she’s found in that quest during the past six years. However, when he breaks loose, she becomes a victim herself, and the undead boy takes flight to terrorize the local village before famed vampire hunter Van Helsing is called in to intervene. The Brides Wore Blood (1972) 4:30pm to 5:45pm Tampa Theatre While this movie features no bloody brides, it’s one of those flicks that’s so bad it’s good. Made in Jacksonville and St. Augustine on a low budget, the film is scrapped together with an unnecessary frame story, a family curse, a vampire trying to impregnate someone, psychic flashbacks, and more.
