Join newly elected Mayor Jane Castor as she leads the annual Bike to Work Ride & Rally on Thursday May 23. There are eight different meet-up locations, each led by experienced riders who know the best routes into Downtown. After the ride, there will be a brief ceremony announcing the latest round of Downtown’s certified Bicycle Friendly Businesses. The program, led by the League of American Bicyclists, initially focused on ground floor restaurants and retail then grew to arts and cultural institutions. Five of our premier destinations are now part of a network of companies across the country – Florida Aquarium, Tampa Bay History Center, Glazer Children’s Museum, Tampa Museum of Art and the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.  This growing list puts Tampa #1 in Florida and #2 in the Nation for the number of certified Bicycle Friendly Businesses!
