Known for the passionate and energetic spirit of their performances, the Athens-based Galan Trio is active both in Greece and internationally.  The group includes Petros Bouras – piano, Dimitra Triantafyllou – violin and Marina Kolovou – cello. Their focus on premiering new compositions has led them to develop unique programs such as their Kinesis projects, which features the work of contemporary American composers. Included on the concert will be the Tampa premiere of “Tetrachoric Variations,” a post-modern, jazz-influenced exploration of historical styles, composed for the group by UTampa music faculty, Bradford Blackburn.
