Central Park Eats & Beats is BACK tomorrow!

Central Park Eats & Beats will return to the St. James Church in ENCORE! tomorrow from 5:00pm – 8:00pm with food trucks, live music, and historical performances by Instruments 4 Life!

 

Instruments4life is a 501c3 that empowers youth through music education and mentorship and has been awarded the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant by the Tampa Downtown Partnership to make this possible.

 

If you’re unable to make it to Central Park Eats & Beats this month, Instruments4Life will be joining us one last time on Tuesday, July 16 for the same fun-filled evening!

Tampa Bay History Center and Tampa Housing Authority are kicking off Juneteenth week with a landmark announcement!

Head to Downtown’s Central Park neighborhood (formerly ENCORE!) TODAY from 2:00pm – 3:00pm to learn more about Tampa’s Black History Museum!

 

This event will feature remarks from several prominent community leaders and elected officials who are eager to speak about this exciting collaboration between the Tampa Bay History Center and Tampa Housing Authority.

 

It is important that residents and visitors alike are aware of the vital contributions that past and present Black leaders have made to Central Ave. and Tampa’s Downtown as a whole! We hope to see you there.

Join us on Friday for Summer Series: Putt & Party!

Summer Series: Putt & Party will be bringing mini-golf, food, music, and fun to Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park from 12:00pm – 8:00pm on Friday, June 21! Get out of the house and burn off some energy with Putt-Putt Golf, food trucks, entertainment, and more to celebrate the start of the summer!

If you’ve been to our quarterly event, Keys in the Park: A Melodic Duel, you’re probably used to enjoying the performance at Lykes Gaslight Park. However, this Friday the event will be held at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park alongside Summer Series: Putt & Party .

 

On Friday from 5:30pm – 7:30pm in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, you’ll be able to watch two talented pianists tickle the ivories and experience the perfect ending to a great summer day!

The Tampa CRA Board approved new commercial grant programs last week!

On June 13, The board of Tampa’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) voted to approve nearly $8.5 million in grant funding for commercial property owners!

 

The four grants will be accessible to those in the CRA areas looking to implement eligible improvements:

 

  • Commercial Exterior Grant: Used to enhance the appearance of commercial buildings and properties
  • Commercial Interior Grant: Used to enhance the interior of commercial buildings and properties
  • Pre-Development Grant: For commercial or business owners to reduce upfront development costs by providing fully-funded design and engineering services
  • Special Projects Grant: Available for certain limited projects that meet the CRA goals and objectives but do not fall within the parameters of another CRA grant
  • *Legacy Credit: Works alongside the grants to reward long-time property owners by lowering upfront out-of-pocket costs

Calling all artists! The Tampa Downtown Partnership is excited to announce a new RFP for our Public Art Mural Identity Project! We’re seeking creative proposals for murals in each of Downtown’s seven unique neighborhoods.

 

This initiative aims to boost cultural vibrancy and aesthetic appeal, celebrating the distinctive character of each area. Contribute to community identity and engage residents and visitors alike! Artists can submit proposals for multiple neighborhoods but will only be selected for one. Let’s make Tampa’s Downtown even more beautiful together!

Artist Nneka Jones has completed her mural at Downtown's Pam Iorio Parking Garage!

Congratulations to artist Nneka Jones who has finished her mural at the Pam Iorio Parking Garage! With help from the Tampa Mobility Parking Department and the Tampa Downtown Partnership, the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts (GFA) was able to commission this beautiful body of work!
