Social wall brings together two large-scale events onto one social platform with use of hashtags
TAMPA (January 24, 2017) — Tampa Downtown Partnership is launching a social wall to engage with the over 300,000 guests expected to attend the Gasparilla Pirate Fest and the NHL All-Star weekend in Tampa’s Downtown. When posts are made to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter using a select set of hashtags, they will appear in real-time to a page hosted on the Tampa Downtown Partnership’s website.
“We were looking for a way which would allow folks to share their experiences with the online community in one,” said Kelsy Van Camp, Director of Marketing and Communication for the Tampa Downtown Partnership. “This social wall brings together posts from across platforms onto one display.” Van Camp adds, “Our goal is to add a sense of community and participation to the Downtown event experience — whether with NHL All-Star, Gasparilla, or both.”
Users can view the wall at tampasdowntown.com/PucksandPirates.
“The wall will remain on our website so people can go back and look at the posts as an easy and fun way to remember the weekend and share it with friends,” said Van Camp.
Posts using the following hashtags will be aggregated and displayed on the wall throughout the weekend:
Parameters have been set so not all posts will be shown on the wall to keep the content appropriate for general audiences.
