Explore Downtown Tampa with the Pirate Water Taxi

The waterways surrounding Downtown Tampa are the centerpiece of everything in the area.  An awesome way to explore it all is with the Pirate Water Taxi.  They have a fleet of six boats with stops at seventeen locations, including Armature Works, Florida Aquarium, Harbour Islands, Davis Islands, Sparkman Wharf, and the Tampa Convention Center.

Tickets can be purchased on the boat at any of stops or at the ticket booth located at stop #7 at the Tampa Convention Center.  Another option is to purchase tickets in advance on the website:  https://www.piratewatertaxi.com/buy-tickets/

You can purchase a 1-day, 2-day, or annual pass.  You’ll be able to hop on and hop off at any of the stops along the routes.

The Fleet
There are six awesome boats in the Pirate Taxi fleet and the Lost Pearl is a sister ship.  The Captain Jack II is the newest boat in the fleet.  It can accommodate up to 100 passengers and has climate controlled seating areas and a bar.  Yes, that’s right, a bar.  You can enjoy drinks while cruising down the Hillsborough River.   They even have a Happy Hour Cruise from 4-7pm Monday through Thursday.

There are 13 stops along the 2 routes.  The River Route features a narrated tour along with bar service.  The Island Connector provides service to the easternmost and southernmost stops.  The Florida Aquarium was just added to the route.

The Pirate Water Taxi is also available for private events.  You can reserve a boat to take your group from one destination to another at your convenience.
